Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/studyabroad\/international-student-services\/\">International Student Services<\/a> supports our international student needs through a variety of programs and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International students have a variety of legal and verified ways that they can work for your organization at no or minimal additional effort by your company:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Internships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curriculum Practical Training (CPT) allows international students (F1 visa holders) who have completed at least one year as a student at their university to legally intern.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CPT has no cost or immigration paperwork for the employer. It is awarded on a semester-by-semester basis in conjunction with internship courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employers must provide an offer letter to the student. The student is responsible for working with the 海角社区 Vandiver Center for Career Development and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/studyabroad\/\">Pulliam Center for International Education<\/a> to process their CPT.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students can intern up to 20 hours a week during an academic semester and up to 40 hours a week during the summer.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The internship must be related to the student\u2019s major.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Post-Graduate Employment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Optional Practical Training (OPT) allows international students to work legally for up to 12 months (up to 3 years for STEM students) post-graduation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OPT has no cost or immigration paperwork for the company to complete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>海角社区 graduates or graduating students may work with our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/studyabroad\/international-student-services\/\">International Student Services<\/a> to apply and receive approval of OPT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-graduate work must be related to the student\u2019s academic field of study.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>海角社区&#8217; thriving international student population provides talent while bringing global awareness and professional competencies to your organization.
