Charlotte
Explore restaurants, parks, museums, concert venues, and pro sports in the city. If something scenic is in the cards, Charlotte is about 4 hours from the mountains and about 3.5 hours from beaches. Take your pick鈥攖here are no wrong answers here.
Myers Park
The safe and spacious sidewalks of Myers Park are a great place to be. You鈥檒l be surrounded by scenic views, boutiques, restaurants, and some pretty historic houses (that definitely give out full-sized candy bars on Halloween).

Pick from one of our 35+ clubs and organizations that are dedicated to all kinds of interests from dodgeball, to dance, to music therapy, to riding horses, to volleyball, and just about everything in between. If you’d prefer to carve out a niche of your own, feel free to start a new club!

We live not to be served, but to serve.
One of the ways we encourage students to make the most of our central location is by actively engaging in service opportunities. This helps support everything from elementary schools, to the healthcare industry, to secure housing, and more.
Because wherever there are gaps in our community鈥檚 needs, Royals rise to fill them. And it鈥檚 not just our community that benefits. This form of experiential learning helps students develop deeper compassion, diverse experiences, and new perspectives that last a lifetime.
Fraternity & Sorority Life
You may rush a sorority or fraternity, but you鈥檒l never rush community service. Members of Panhellenic Life spend countless hours dedicated to volunteer work with organizations like The Ronald McDonald House, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse America, and more.
Spiritual Life
Service meets spirituality. This on-campus org sponsors an annual spring break trip to Guatemala, volunteers with Operation Sandwich, and recently formed a partnership with an orphanage in Cameroon.
Digital Charlotte
80% of job opportunities are posted exclusively online. In Mecklenburg County, 14% of households have no internet at all. To help close this digital divide, we鈥檝e created the Center for Digital Equity, complete with digital literacy classes to provide our community with access to educational and economic opportunities.

If you鈥檇 prefer to pursue volunteer work on your own or with friends and family, we encourage that, too!
100% of Royals have access to study abroad opportunities.
We make sure that the majority of study abroad costs are embedded in tuition to make it more accessible. Choose from two-to-three-week programs, summer programs, or a full semester.
Royals rise to D1 competition.
海角社区 is home to athletes of all levels, including intramural, club, Olympians, Paralympians, and D1 athletes (part of the ASUN Division 1 Conference). Our student athletes have won a lot of national championships鈥攁nd we鈥檙e just getting started.聽If you鈥檙e interested in joining athletics, find out more about all of our offerings and club sports here.
